Homelessness
Thanks for stopping by this page!
This page is about how you can help to make a difference in the lives of local people from the northwest suburbs- who are currently homeless & near-homeless.
In all of my classes I collect items for the local homeless & near-homeless.
I have to say...I am VERY PROUD of my students, who have helped to make frequent donations.
But recently I found another place that I will be bringing the donations to in:
This new place offers a hot breakfast & lunch to the homeless every Saturday morning.
I also know that any donations brought here will go *directly* to those in need.
(scroll down to see how you can help!)
She updates her site/blog every few days. She also has some great links on her site.
So how can YOU help?
You can bring donations to class or events, or if you would like to volunteer let me know!

Laundry:
I have found a way to donate laundry supplies to many people at once for cheap!
Need: Arm & Hammer POWDER Laundry Detergent, Dryer Sheets, & zip lock bags.
Each of the above items put together makes about 25 'laundry bags'.
In turn- each baggie has enough supplies for 2 small loads OR 1 large load of laundry.
It comes out to about $.40/baggie!
The 1st 25 were given out on May 30th, the next 25 will be given out on June 6th.
At the Student Show a HUGE donation was made. We were able to donate 80 more 'laundry kits'!
any further donations appreciated to make future laundry baggies...
